Women’s Lacrosse Posts 20-6 Win Over San Diego State

ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Friday, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team hosted San Diego State. The Lions would post a commanding 20-6 win over the Aztecs.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions started off the first quarter hot, scoring the first six goals of the frame, with the first goal coming at the 12:32 mark in the game. The Aztecs would find their first goal of the game at the 5:13 mark in the frame, closing the Lions lead to five. The Lions would score the next four goals in the frame, leading 10-1 after the first quarter. Goal scorers for the Lions in the frame include Logann Eldredge (3), Alissa Digiacinto (3), Kiley Davis (3), Isabella Rulapaugh (1).


In the second quarter, Digiacinto started off the scoring for the Lions, at the 12:31 mark in the frame. Digiacinto's goal would be assisted by Emily Mowbray. Two minutes later, Breylin Bright would put the Lions up 12-1. The Aztecs would not shy away, scoring back-to-back goals to cut the Lions lead to nine. At the 4:13 mark in the frame, Eldredge would score the final goal in the frame. After two quarters, the Lions would lead 13-3.

In the third quarter, the Aztecs would start off the scoring in the frame, tallying a goal at the 12:56 mark. 30 seconds later, Eldredge would score to put the Lions back up by 10. The Lions would score the next four goals, extending their lead to 14. After three quarters, the Lions would lead 18-4.


In the fourth, the Lions would tally the first two goals, gaining their largest lead of the game. At this point in the game, the Lions would lead 20-4. The Aztecs would score back-to-back goals to end the game.


Elizabeth Goth started in net for the Lions making one save. Haylie Sims would relieve Goth later in the game, making one stop.

QUOTABLE
"Today was a complete team effort. I am proud of the way we got out of the gates running, and how we played for a full sixty minutes. This is a fun team to watch, and they really play hard for one another. The sky is the limit for this squad", said head coach Jack Cribbin.
