BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Lindenwood beach volleyball (5-3, 0-0 OVC) defeated non-conference opponent McKendree (2-5) by a final score of 4-1 at the Silver Creek Saloon in Belleville, Ill. The Lions now lead the Ohio Valley Conference in wins with five.
Lindenwood's dominant number one pairing of
Maider Soto and
Katie Malzahn picked up their sixth victory of the season after taking down McKendree's Brooke Junker and Natalie Witt by final scores of 23-21 and 21-15.
After falling in the first set by a score of 18-21, the number two pairing of
Nyah Wilson and
Taylor Gentemann stormed back with two straight set wins with scores of 21-17 and 15-10. It was one of two three set matches on Monday.
Abby Jacobs and
Annalie McWhorter also won at the number three pairing winning in two set by scores of 21-7 and 21-19. The duo allowed their lowest score of the season with seven points.
Jessie Seidel and
Kailee McGee feel at the four duo with scores of 19-21, 21-10 and 12-15.
Elise Llorens and
Amber Schade was the final pair to win on Monday at the number five spot with scores of 21-16 and 21-19.
