Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Air Force at Home

ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Saturday, the Lindenwood men's lacrosse team took on Air Force. The Lions would fall to the Falcons 15-3.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Air Force would start off the period scoring first at 13:58. The Falcons would score the next two goals, extending their lead to three. The Falcons would hold the Lions scoreless in the first quarter, with the Lions trailing 3-0 going into the second.

In the second, Air Force would strike first at the 9:33 mark in the frame. Evan Mason would net his second goal of the season, getting the Lions their first goal of the game. Air Force would go on a five-goal run, ending the period with the Lions trailing 9-1.

In the third, the Falcons would find the back of the net first at 12:55. At 4:29, Flint Thielen found the Lions second goal of the game at 4:29. Less than a minute later, Air Force would score, extending the Falcons lead to nine. Thielen would score his second goal of the game at 2:02, with the Lions trailing by eight. Air Force would tally the final goal of the period with eight seconds left. After three quarters of play, the Lions would trail 12-3 to the Falcons.

The Lions would be held scoreless in the fourth, while the Falcons tallied three more times.

After this matchup, the Lions fell to 0-6 on the season. AJ Preachuk started in net for the Lions making fives saves. In the latter part of the fourth, Oliver Vanyo relieved Preachuk in net. The freshman would make four saves in net. Thielen would lead the Lions in points on the day with two. Joseph Sarno went 12-20 at the faceoff dot.

Lindenwood will head to the state of Kentucky on Saturday, March 30th, to take on Bellarmine University. The game is set to be played at 12:00 PM CST.
