LOUISVILLE, KY. – On Saturday, men's lacrosse took on Bellarmine University. The Lions would be defeated by the Knights, 17-10.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter a total of eight goals were scored. At 13:35, Bellarmine would score the first goal of the game. Three minutes later,
Evan Mason would score the Lions first goal of the game, assisted by
Noah Wehrman. 28 seconds later, the Knights would regain the one goal lead.
Flint Thielen would tie the game up at 2-2, with 8:54 left to go in the first. The Knights would go on a three goal run scoring their last goal of the run at 3:15. Lindenwood would get the final answer in the frame, with
Immanuel Brown scoring his first career goal as a Lion with 0:08 left. After one quarter of play, Lindenwood would trail Bellarmine, 5-3.
In the second quarter, Bellarmine would strike first at 13:38. Mason would score his second goal of the game for the Lions, assisted by
Adrian Thompson at 11:38, cutting the Knights lead to two. Bellarmine would score a pair of goals at 9:13 and 7:11, extending their lead to four.
Flint Thielen would score the Lions final goal in the half at 6:22. The Knights would tally twice more before the end of the period, leading 10-5, going into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Knights would score two early goals extending their lead to seven.
Noah Wehrman would cut the Knights four-goal run at 10:02, bringing the score to 12-6, advantage Bellarmine. The Knights would go on a three-goal run, extending their lead to nine. Thielen would score the final goal in the frame, with the Lions trailing 15-7 going in the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Bellarmine would score 51 seconds into the frame.
Nick George would tally his first goal of the year at 2:58, with the Lions down by eight. Bellarmine would score one final goal at 1:42. The Lions would score the two final goals in the frame, coming from
Lincoln Davidson and Mason.
After the loss, Lindenwood falls to 0-7 on the season.
AJ Preachuk started in net making 16 saves.
Oliver Vanyo also made an appearance in net in the latter minutes of the game, making one save.
Mason led the Lions in points on the day with four. Both Mason and Thielen tallied three goals.
