ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Wednesday, men's lacrosse took on the University of Utah. The Lions would fall to the Utes 17-5.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Lindenwood would get on the board first coming from a
Adrian Thompson crease finish, assisted by
Immanuel Brown at 12:57. Utah would get their first goal of the game at 8:46 and would score another at 5:49, taking the 2-1 lead over the Lions. Lindenwood would tie the game up at 1:16, coming from
Connor Engel. Utah would get the final goal of the quarter at 0:53. After one quarter of the play Lindenwood trailed Utah 3-2.
In the second quarter, Utah would start off the frame scoring the first three goals, extending their lead to four. Engel would tally his second goal of the game, assisted by
Evan Mason, stopping the Utes run at 4:10. Utah would score the final goal of the frame at 3:39. After one half of play, Lindenwood trailed Utah 7-3.
In the third quarter, Utah would go on a five-goal run starting off the period. Lindenwood would notch their first and goal of the second half at 5:09 coming from Engel, assisted by Thompson. After three quarters of play, Lindenwood would trail the Utes 12-4.
In the fourth quarter, Utah would start the quarter scoring four straight, extending their lead over the Lions to twelve.
Niko Spewock would stop the Utes run at 1:36, after picking up a loose ball and notching his first career goal as a Lion. Utah would score the final goal of the game, bringing their lead back to twelve.
After this matchup, Lindenwood moved to 0-9 on the season and 0-5 in conference. Engel would Lindenwood in points on the afternoon with three off three goals.
AJ Preachuk had a stellar performance in net making 15 saves with 8 of them coming in the first quarter.
