Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Jacksonville on the Road

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – On Saturday, men's lacrosse squared off against Jacksonville in the Sunshine State. Lindenwood would fall to Jacksonville 20-5.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Jacksonville would outscore Lindenwood 6-0 . The Dolphins would also outshoot the Lions in the period 17-6.

In the second quarter, Jacksonville would continue to have success on the offensive side of the ball, scoring the first four goals of the frame. With 8:50 left to go in the frame, Jacksonville led Lindenwood 10-0. Lindenwood would find their first goal of the game at 5:45, coming from Patrick Lanigan, assisted by Ace Nichols. Lindenwood would score again at 3:26, coming from Jack Martinez, closing the Lions deficit with the Dolphins to eight. Jacksonville would score two more goals to close out the quarter, while the Lions scored once more, coming from Flint Thielen on a man-up opportunity. After one half of play, Lindenwood would trail Jacksonville, 12-3.

In the third, Lindenwood would get on the board first coming from an Immanuel Brown shot, closing the Lions deficit to eight at 13:04. Jacksonville would go on a four-goal stretch, bringing their lead to twelve with 9:11 left to go. Brendan Ly would score for the Lions, breaking the Dolphins scoring streak at 5:40. Jacksonville would score the final two goals of the frame leading 18-5, going into the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville would outscore Lindenwood 2-0 in the final quarter, extending their lead to fifteen. After this matchup, Lindenwood falls to 0-10 on the season. The
Lions had seven individuals with a point. AJ Preachuk started in net, making 13 saves. Oliver Vanyo would relieve Preachuk in the latter minutes of the game, making three saves.
