ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Saturday, men's lacrosse took on Robert Morris on Senior Day. The Lions would fall short to the Colonials, being defeated by a score of 10-9.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Robert Morris would jump to an early 3-0 lead.
Flint Thielen would get Lindenwood would on the board at 5:39, with the Lions trailing 3-1. Robert Morris would score the final two goals of the frame, with the Lions trailing 5-1, going into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Lindenwood scored the first two goals of the frame to cut the Colonials lead to three, with goals coming from
Connor Engel at 12:01 and
Evan Mason at 5:22. Robert Morris would find their first goal of the quarter at 2:09. The Lions would rattle off two more goals to end the half trailing 6-5, with goals coming from
Adrian Thompson and
Noah Wehrman.
In the third quarter, Lindenwood would score the first two goals of the period to earn their first lead of the game, with goals coming from Thompson and
Jack Martinez. Robert Morris would tie the game up at 7-7 with 2:48 left to go in the frame. Lindenwood would score another pair of goals, to extend their lead to two. Goals scorers included Thompson and Mason. Robert Morris would score the final goal of the frame, with the Lions leading 9-8 going into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Robert Morris would hold Lindenwood scoreless, with the Colonials tying the game up at 9-9 with 11:03 in the game, then scoring the game-winner at 4:08.
Lindenwood falls to 0-11 on the season and 0-8 in conference play.
AJ Preachuk got the nod in net, making 14 saves. Thompson led Lindenwood in scoring on the afternoon with five points.
