MARTIN, Tenn. - Lindenwood beach volleyball (12-6, 5-3 OVC) split their two matches on Friday to start the second Ohio Valley Conference Weekend of the season. The Lions defeated Tennessee Tech 4-1 on Friday before eventually losing to Chattanooga.

Lindenwood continued their four-match win streak on Friday at 8:00 a.m. in Martin, Tenn. when they took on Tennessee Tech to start the weekend. It marked the second time this season that the Lions had defeated Tennessee Tech.
Last week's OVC Pair of the Week
Maider Soto and
Nyah Wilson continued their success at the number one pair taking down TTU by scores of 23-21 and 21-16. It marked the seventh win for the pair at the number one spot and they move to 7-2 overall together.
Katie Malzahn and
Abby Jacobs rebounded this week picking up a win at the number two pairing against the Golden Eagles with scores of 21-14 and 21-17. There was a new pair for the Lions at the number four spot with
Kailee McGee and
Abby VanBuskirk and they won their first match paired together with scores of 21-16, 16-21 and 15-10.
Amber Schade and
Elise Llorens wrapped up the Lions win at the five spot with scores of 21-15, 19-21 and 17-15 in a three set match.
Jessie Seidel and
Annalie McWhorter were the lone loss for the Lions vs. Tennessee Tech.

Chattanooga - 5
In the Lions' second match on Friday, Lindenwood fell against OVC-affiliate member Chattanooga by a final score of 5-0. The Mocs took the season series 2-0 after winning both meetings.
Number one pair Soto and Wilson fell to Neva Clark and Corina Vale in Martin, Tenn. by final scores of 21-15 and 21-17. It marked only the third loss of the season for Soto and Wilson.
Malzahn and Jacobs also lost at the number two pairing with scores of 21-13 and 21-17. Seidel and McWhorter battled tough at the three spot with scores of 24-22 and 21-11 against Joy Courtwright and Maddie Lecik.
McGee and VanBuskirk (L, 21-13 and 21-13) lost at the number four pair while Llorens and Schade (L, 21-15 and 21-19) suffered a hard fought loss at the five spot.
