Women’s Lacrosse Wins 13-12 Over Queens on Senior Day

ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Saturday, women's lacrosse took on Queens while the Lions celebrated Senior Day. In a closely contested matchup, Lindenwood would pull out the 13-12 victory over the Royals.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Queens would find the back of the net first at 11:02. Not more than two minutes later, the Royals would find the scoring column once again, extending their lead to two. Lindenwood would strike back scoring a pair, coming from Kiley Davis and Logann Eldredge. With 8:38 left to go in the period, Lindenwood would be tied with the Royals 2-2. The Royals would finish off the frame scoring two goals, with Lindenwood trailing 4-2, after one quarter of play.

In the second quarter, Lindenwood would come out firing offensively, scoring three straight goals to start off the frame. Goal scorers for the Lions included Davis, Sara Grieco, and Lindsey Smith. The Royals would stop the Lions run at 10:41 with Lindenwood being tied up with Queens 5-5. Lindenwood and Queens would trade off the next two goals with 9:13 left to go in the half. Lindenwood would tally the final two goals in the frame to take the 8-6 lead going into halftime.

In the third quarter, Eldredge would get the Lions on the board at 11:12. The Royals would find their first goal of the second half at 8:27, cutting the Lions lead to two. Reese Krieger at 8:23 would put the Lions back up three. Lindenwood and Queens would trade off the final two goals of the frame with the Lions leading 11-8 going into the final frame.

In the fourth quarter, the Royals would tally first at 11:13. Krieger would score her second goal of the game at 10:15 to regain the Lions three goal lead. At 8:54, the Royals would score to bring the Lions lead back to two. Less than thirty seconds later, Eldredge would tally, bringing the Lions lead back to three. Queens would score the final two goals of the frame, falling to the Lions 13-12.

After this matchup, Lindenwood improves to 13-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference. Elizabeth Goth got the nod in net, making nine saves. Eldrege led Lindenwood in points on the day with five, coming from four goals and one assist.
