Nya Kraus from Lindenwood gymnastics will be heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan this weekend to compete at the NCAA Regionals hosted at the Crisler Center on the campus of the University of Michigan.
"We are super proud of Nya and all of her accomplishments this season," said head coach Catelyn Branson. "She has truly found her confidence this year and it has been so fun to watch. We're excited for her to have this opportunity to show off her talent on the NCAA stage."
During the Midwest Independence Conference Championships hosted in Hyland Arena, Kraus took home First Team All-MIC honors on bars and beam with scores of 9.875 and 9.900. She finished first on bars during the meet and was second on beam where she received a 10 from one judge.
During her sophomore season, Kraus posted a 9.900 three times on beam including at the MIC Championships. Her average score on beam is a 9.768 and has a NQS of 9.880.
Overall this season on beam, Kraus has two first places, two top three finishes including a second place score of 9.900 at the Mizzou to the Lou meet and seven top five finishes.
Kraus will be competing on Thursday, April 4th during the second session at the Michigan Regional. For more information go to lindenwoodlions.com.
