JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – On Saturday morning, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse program took on 2023 ASUN champions, Jacksonville. The Lions would fall to the Dolphins 20-6.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Lindenwood would go up 2-0 early, with goals coming from
Kiley Davis and
Logann Eldredge. At 2:52, Jacksonville would find their first goal of the game. After one quarter of play, Lindenwood would lead 2-1.
In the second quarter,
Sara Grieco would start off the scoring for the Lions at 12:49. The Dolphins would quickly answer back, scoring at 10:55. At 6:38, Eldredge would score her second goal of the game, bringing the Lions lead back to two. Jacksonville would finish out scoring three straight goals to the end the quarter. After one half of play, Lindenwood would trail the Dolphins 5-4.
In the third quarter, Jacksonville would stretch their lead to six after scoring five straight goals to start off the frame. Lindenwood found their first goal of the frame at 6:53, coming from
Alissa Digiacinto. Lindenwood and Jacksonville would trade off the next two goals with the Lions trailing 12-6 with 2:12 left to go. Jacksonville would get the final answer in the period with 25 seconds left, with the Dolphins lead 13-6, going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Lindenwood would be held scoreless. Jacksonville in the frame would score seven goals, extending their lead to 14.
After this matchup, Lindenwood moved to 10-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Eldredge led the Lions in points on the day with two.
