Men’s Ice Hockey Blanks Stonehill 3-0

BRIDGEWATER, MASS. – On Friday night, men's ice hockey (4-15-1) took on Stonehill (6-18-0) for the third time this season. The Lions would register their second shutout of the season against the Skyhawks, defeating them 3-0. After the contest, Lindenwood improves to 5-15-1 on the season, breaking their three-game losing streak, and Stonehill falls to 6-19-0.

GAME OVERVIEW
In period one, it took 19:42.2 for the 0-0 tie to break. With less than 18 seconds left in the period, Lindenwood's Patrick Schmiedlin would poke a back-handed shot from the low slot into the back of the net, assisted by David Gagnon and John Evans. The Lions would leave the period leading 1-0. In the frame, the Lions had 11 shots on goal, and Owen Bartoszkiewicz would stop ten shots.

In period two, a strong defensive effort by both squads would each off the scoring column, resulting in the Lions still leading 1-0, after two periods of play. In the second period, Lindenwood would have nine shots on goal, and Bartoszkiewicz would make seven stops.

In the frame, Lindenwood would have 11 shots on goal and Bartoszkiewicz would make six stops.

On the night, Lindenwood would have 31 shots on goal and Bartoszkiewicz would make 23 stops. Bartoszkiewicz would also record his second shutout of the season.
