Before heading into the bye week, Lindenwood picked up their first win of the season by defeating Merrimack College 6-3 at Centene Community Ice Center on Friday, October 10.
Zsofia Pazmandi and
Tatiana Blichova each scored two goals for the Lions in the victory, while Blichova's performance against the Warriors earned her AHA Rookie of the Week honors. The Freshman from Slovakia finished the series with three points (2 G, 1 A) and recorded 11 shots on goal in the series with Merrimack.
Molly Henderson also added three points in the win over the Warriors, registering two assists and one goal. The Assistant Captain had a great weekend from the faceoff circle, winning 57% of the faceoffs she took against Merrimack.
The Lions will begin conference play on the road, as they will take on the three-time defending AHA champions Penn State. Penn State is currently ranked sixth in the latest USCHO poll after picking up their second sweep of the season over a ranked opponent, defeating #15 Mercyhurst twice on the Nittany Lion's home ice. So far in 2025-26, Lindenwood is 0-2 against ranked opponents after falling on the road in the first two games of the season at #13 St. Cloud State. The Lions will look to pick up their first ranked win of the season as well as the first ranked win in the
Taylor Wasylk era. (0-13)
