UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Lindenwood Women's Hockey fell for the second straight day at Penn State on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0. The Lions fall to 1-9-0 on the season with the loss, including an 0-2-0 record in the AHA.
The first period was competitive as Penn State scored a goal with six minutes to go in the period to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room after the first 20 minutes. Lindenwood killed off two Nittany Lion Power Plays getting three blocks and allowing four shots total on the Penalty Kill. The Lions had eight shots on goal with
Michaela Paulinyova registering three and
Maegan Cronan recording two in the period.
In the second period, Penn State erupted for four goals and extended their lead to 5-0 after 40 minutes of play and would hang on to the lead in the third period to win the game 5-0. Lindenwood finished the game with 18 shots on goal with Paulinyova and Cronan leading the team in shots with three each.
The Lions will continue their four-game road trip next weekend at RIT. Puck drop on Friday is set for 2 p.m. CT.
