LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –The Lindenwood women's soccer team (8-4-5, 5-2-2) closed the regular season with a 1-1 draw at Little Rock (7-3-6, 5-0-4 OVC) on Sunday afternoon.
Maddy Vasiloff scored in the 89th minute to secure the point.
Match Overview
Lindenwood outshot Little Rock 6-4 in the first half with five shots on goal while limiting the Trojans to just one. The Lions also created a steady advantage on restarts, drawing a total of 11 fouls while committing just two of their own, but were unable to find a goal in the opening 45.
Little Rock was able to flip the script after halftime, outshooting the Lions 9-3 following the break, and in the 85th minute, a cross into the box by LR's Claire Silvestro deflected off a LU defender and into the net for an own goal. However, Lindenwood was able to find an equalizer with less than two minutes remaining, as
Maddy Vasiloff lofted a ball from the right side of the box over the Trojan goalkeeper and into the opposite side of the net.
