Nolan Seed with two goals and three assists in the game

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The Lindenwood men's hockey team (6-5-0) picked up a convincing 6-2 win over Robert Morris (2-8-0, 2-2-0 AHA) at Centene Community Ice Center on Friday night. Five Lions recorded multi-point outings, headlined by defenseman Nolan Seed with five points.

Game Overview
The Lions wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with Nolan Seed scoring from the high slot less than 30 seconds into the game on an assist from Tyler Loughman. Just over four minutes later, Giovanni Morneau found Connor Gengle in front of net, with the freshman scoring the first goal of his collegiate career to put LU up 2-0. Charles Savoie was also credited with an assist on the play.

Lindenwood tacked on one more in the period at the 14:05 mark with Drew Kuzma poking one home from right in front of goal on assists from Tyler Loughman and Nolan Seed.

Robert Morris found their first goal four and a half minutes into the second period with a Michael Felsing score assisted by Ryan Taylor and Geroge Krotiris, but the Lions roared back with another goal three minutes later as Olivier Houde found the back of the net on another feed from Nolan Seed.

The Colonials answered with a power play conversion by Cameron Garvey at the 11:47 mark to slash their deficit back to a pair. The game looked destined to enter the second intermission 4-2, but Nolan Seed had other plans and delivered a power play snipe from just inside the blue line with less than a second remaining in the period to extend the LU lead back to three. Giovanni Morneau and Charles Savoie assisted on the play.

Lindenwood would add one more score in the third period with Connor Gengle scoring his second goal of the contest at the 7:19 mark. Giovanni Morneau and Nolan Seed both recorded their third assists of the night on the play, with Seed bringing his point total to five (2 goals – 3 assists) in the contest. It was the first five-point performance by a Lindenwood skater since Aiden Yakimchuk posted three goals and two assists against Stonehill on January 26th, 2024.

The Lions outshot the Colonials 50-24 in the game, limiting RMU to just five shots on goal in each of the final two periods as Liam Beerman collected 22 saves to move his record in net to 4-1.

LU went 2-3 on the power play, improving their season-long conversion percentage to 24.4% (10-41).
