For the second-consecutive week, Aleshia Jones of the Lindenwood women's basketball team has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week as announced on Tuesday

Jones was named the Tournament MVP at the American Savings Bank Rainbow Waihne Showdown. The Lions went 2-1 in Hawaii with wins over Hawaii and Vermont.

The graduate guard averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists across the three games. She opened the tournament with a season-high 25 points against Santa Clara, including 15 in the fourth quarter. Jones followed it up with 19 points and nine rebounds against Hawaii and scored 14 against Vermont.

Jones has now scored in double figures in six consecutive games and currently leads the team in scoring averaging 15.4 points per game.

Jones and the rest of the Lions will be back in action tomorrow, taking on Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 11:00 a.m.
