Anias Futrell Tabbed OVC Player Of The Week

On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Valley Conference announced that Anias Futrell is the latest OVC Player of the Week for his performances last week that helped Lindenwood go 2-0 with victories over Western Illinois and Harris Stowe. The Senior Guard from St. Louis, Mo. becomes the first Lion to win an OVC weekly honor this season. 

On Thursday against WIU, Futrell led the Lions offensively as he scored a career-high 36 points on 14-25 shooting from the field and knocked down a season high eight three pointers in the Lions 92-76 victory over the Leathernecks. He also tied for a team high eight rebounds and recorded five assists to help Lindenwood improve to 2-0 in the OVC. On Saturday against Harris Stowe, Futrell scored a game high 16 points and grabbed his season high in rebounds with nine.

For the week, the 6'5 Guard averaged 26 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game. He has scored in double figures in nine out of 11 games played so far this season, including scoring in double figures for eight straight games, which is the longest active streak on the 2025-26 squad. 

Futrell and the Lions return to action tomorrow afternoon at Missouri State at 2 p.m.
