The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (3-6, 0-3 MIVA) dropped a four set match to No. 15 Ohio State (5-6, 2-1 MIVA) on Saturday afternoon from Columbus, Ohio.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The Buckeyes jumped out to a 9-3 lead, which forced a Lindenwood timeout. Ohio State continued to take control of the first set and won it 25-12.
In the second set, Ohio State won the race to 10 and went up 10-8. The Buckeyes pushed their lead to 17-12, but Lindenwood responded with a mini 4-0 run to get within one after an ace from
Amir Grant. Lindenwood tied it up at 18 apiece as
Owen Walsh stuffed a Buckeye attack attempt at the net and OSU needed a timeout. The two teams traded points until a
Carter Stenmark kill put Lindenwood up 24-23. However, the Buckeyes won the next three points to go up 2-0 in the match.
Lindenwood kept battling and hit .583 in the third set. The Lions jumped ahead by two at 15-13. Ohio State got back within one at 21-20, but the Lions closed the set well and won it 25-22, thanks to a
Brendan Louthain kill.
Ohio State held a comfortable lead throughout the fourth set and pushed it to 20-12. Lindenwood kept battling and got it within five at 23-18, but the Buckeyes took the set and the match 3-1.
