Women's Lacrosse Stumbles at George Mason

The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (2-1) fell on the road at George Mason (3-2) by a score of 16-11

GAME OVERVIEW
George Mason jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before Luci Selander got the Lions on the board, assisted by Isabella Rulapaugh at the 9:42 mark. The pair connected again less than a minute later to tie the game at 2-2. After a Patriots goal to regain the lead, Selander completed a first quarter hat trick to knot the game at 3-3. GMU scored the next wo goals before Reese Krieger found the back of the net. The Lions would trail by one after 15 minutes.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net until the 5:49 mark of the quarter as George Mason extended their lead to 6-4. The Patriots would score two more quick goals, going up 8-4. Alissa DiGiacinto cut into the deficit with a free position goal with less than a minute to go in the half, making the score 8-5. GMU scored with three seconds to go, giving them a 9-5 advantage at the break.

Lindenwood netted the first two goals of the second half, coming from Krieger and Sarah Jardine, making the score 9-7. GMU would score the next four goals to extend the lead to 13-7. Selander put a stop to the Patriots run with her fourth of the day, trimming the deficit to 13-8. George Mason would score two more goals before the end of the quarter and hold a 15-8 lead after three.

DiGiacinto started the scoring in the fourth with her second of the day. Lindenwood kept chipping away as DiGiacinto scored again, along with Selander, making the score 15-11. George Mason was able to hang on, however and earn the 16-11 victory
