Baseball Outlasted in Extra Innings by SIUE

The Lindenwood baseball team (16-17, 5-4 OVC) suffered a tough 3-1 extra inning loss to SIUE (14-18, 7-3 OVC) on Friday nigh from Lou Brock Sports Complex

GAME OVERVIEW
Ethan Smith pitched out of a first inning jam with the help of a pair of strikeouts. Both pitchers were dialed in early, allowing just one hit through four innings. SIUE played small ball and came up with a two-out hit to plate the first run of the game in the fifth, going up 1-0.

Jake Radosevich brought life to the Lindenwood offense in the sixth, belting a solo shot to left center, knotting the game at one. The bullpen for each team picked up where the starters left off as Bennett Stice tossed 2.1 innings of scoreless ball to keep the score tied 1-1 heading to the ninth.

The bullpen for each squad continued to be the story in extras with Easton Rakers threw a season-high four scoreless innings to keep the score level at one headed to the 14th. SIUE finally broke through in the 14th with a pair of runs to go up 3-1. The Lions were unable to get anything going in the bottom half and SIUE picked up the win.
