The Lindenwood lacrosse team (9-4, 2-2 ASUN) fell on a Wednesday afternoon matchup to Vanderbilt (7-8, 2-3 AAC) by a score of 20-6.
GAME OVERVIEW
Vandy netted the first five goals of the day, taking a 5-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Aliisa DiGiacinto put a stop to the run off a feed from
Luci Selander making the score 5-1. The Commodores went on to score three more before the end of the quarter and held an 8-1 lead after one.
After Vandy scored early in the middle period,
Reese Krieger found the back of the net at the 12:42 mark, making the score 8-2. Vanderbilt then scored the next three, before DiGiacinto got her second of the day, moving the score to 11-3. With less than three minutes to go in the half,
Breylin Bright scored to make it 13-4. She was assisted by
Ryleigh Cavanaugh. The Commodores netted one more before the end of the quarter to take a 14-4 lead at the break.
Tatum Bryant opened the scoring in the third quarter, assisted by Selander. DiGiacinto finished off her hat trick later in the frame, making the score 15-6. Vandy scored the last five goals of the game to earn the 20-6 win.
