Women's Lacrosse Falls to Jacksonville on Saturday

The Lindenwood lacrosse team (9-2, 2-1 ASUN) fell by a score of 16-11 on Saturday to Jacksonville (7-4, 3-0 ASUN) from Hunter Stadium

GAME OVERVIEW
Jacksonville got on the board first, going up 1-0 at the 11:59 mark. Just over three minutes later, Alissa DiGiacinto caused a turnover and eventually found the back of the net, tying the game at 1-1. The Dolphina retook the lead with just over 6 minutes to go, 2-1. The Lions scored the next two goals of the frame, coming from DiGiacinto and Isabella Rulapaugh, giving the Lions a 3-2 lead. Jacksonville scored before the end of the quarter, tying the game at 3 after 15 minutes.

The Dolphins netted the first four goals of the second quarter to gai3n some separation at 7-3. Ryleigh Cavanaugh put an end to the run off a feed from DiGiacinto at the 6:01 mark making the score 7-4. JU closed the half with the final two goals and led 9-4 at the break.

Jacksonville went up 10-4 to start the third quarter, but Breylin Bright scored with just over 10 minutes to go, cutting the deficit to 10-5, which was assisted by DiGiacinto. JU scored four unanswered to take a 14-5 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Lindenwood kept battling in the final frame, scoring the first two goals, coming off the sticks of Luci Selander and Olivia Tighe, making the score 14-7. The Dolphins netted one at the 9:16 mark, regaining an eight-goal lead. The Lions scored the next two from Cavanaugh and Reese Krieger, closing the gap to six at 15-9. After a Jacksonville goal made it 16-9, Lindenwood scored the final two goals of the game from Sarah Jardine assisted by Selander and Krieger again. That is as close as the Lions would get, falling 16-11 on Saturday.
