The Lindenwood men's golf team finished the Bluejay Invitational in fifth place, compiling a team score of 867 across three rounds at Shadow Ridge Country Club
OVERVIEW
The Lions opened the tournament with a team score of 300 led by
Francisco Gavilan Fernandez who carded a one-over 73. He poured in five birdies during his opening round, including three-straight on 16, 17, and 18. Gavilan was followed by
Jan Wdowka and
Ludvig Behring who each shot a 75, While
Owen Shy was not far behind with a 77.
Lindenwood improved by 18 strokes as a team in round two, compiling a 282. Four players came in under par during the second round. Wdowka fired a two-under 70 and birdied the final three holes.
Santiago Juesas Benet had his best round of the year so far with a 70, while Gavilan Shy shot 71. After 36 holes, the Black and Gold sat tied for sixth and five shots back of fifth.
In the final round, the Black & Gold fired a 285, led by Wdowka with a two-under 70.
Owen Shy had the best round of his early collegiate career with a one-under 71. Coming in just behind them was Gavilan Fernadez and Juesas who registered an even-par 72. Rounding out the lineup was Behring with a 74.
