The Lions are coming off a gritty 69-67 win over Southern Indiana on Thursday as the Lions picked up their first-ever victory at Liberty Arena.

Brooke Coffey, and
Aleshia Jones combined for 57 of the 69 points. The fourth quarter featured five lead changes, but Lindenwood made some big plays down the stretch to secure the win.

In a one-possession game late, Jones stole the ball off an inbounds play and went to the line, making two free throws to extend the lead to five. It was her fifth game this season with at least four or more thefts. On the year, Jones is averaging 2.3 steals per game, fourth most in the OVC. The Leavenworth, Kan. native has scored in double figures in seven straight games and leads the team averaging 15.2 points per game.

Brueggemann finished the game with 26 points, one shy of her career high. The Owasso, Okla. native hit the go-ahead three with under a minute to go in the final frame. Brueggemann shot 8-of-14 from the field, including 6-of-10 from three-point range. The junior guard has made 45.8 percent of her attempts from deep, which ranks tops in the OVC and ninth nationally. She also added three rounds and two assists.

Overall, the Lions have drilled 27 three pointers in their last two games, including 13 on Thursday compared to just 11 two-point makes against the Screaming Eagles. So far this season, Lindenwood is shooting 38.8 percent from three-point range, ranking top five in the nation.

Coffey nearly missed out on her sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and eight rebounds. She has recorded 16 or more points in three-straight and four of the last five. The junior guard pulls down an average of 7.8 boards per night, ranking fifth in the conference. Coffey also continues to shoot the ball well from the field, amassing a 55.5 field goal percentage.

Lindenwood will be looking to even the season series against Morehead State as the Eagles edged the Lions, 51-50 in St. Charles, Mo. on January 1. Morehead was up 13 points in the fourth, but the Lindenwood rally came up short.
