ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team (0-1,0-0 OVC) fell in their season opener this afternoon by a score of 3-4 against Northern Iowa. All three points from the Lions came during singles play at the number three, four, and five spots. 

In doubles play, Michelle Trochez and Sofija Dunisijevic picked up their first doubles win of the season as the number two duo, but UNI took the doubles point with wins at the number one and three spots by scores of 6-1, 6-3. Trochez and Dunisijevic picked up their second win of the day in singles play at the number three and five spots with Trochez winning in three sets by scores of 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 and Dunisijevic winning with ease in straight sets by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Paola Garcia also picked up her first win of the season in singles play after dropping the first set 4-6 and bouncing back with wins in sets two and three by scores of 6-1, 6-4. Megan Caffin narrowly lost her match in singles play at the number two spot by a score of 4-6, 6-7. 

The Lions will return to action tomorrow night at the Missouri Athletic Club in St Louis where they will be hosting Drake. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
