BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Three Lindenwood women's soccer players have been recognized with Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week awards following last week's shutout wins over Southern Indiana and Southeast Missouri.
Mackenzie Compton was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after registering five points last week, delivering an assist on the game-winning goal against Southern Indiana on Thursday before scoring two goals against Southeast Missouri on Sunday for her second brace of the season. She totaled eight shots with three attempts on target.
Peyton Johnson claimed her fourth Defensive Player of the Week award as she anchored a Lindenwood defense that posted two shutouts while allowing a total of just eight shots on goal. She played all 180 minutes of the Lions' two victories and has not left the field for a single minute this season.
Finally,
Lauren Hale was named Goalkeeper of the Week after turning in clean sheets in each of her first two collegiate starts, making a total of eight saves with three stops against Southern Indiana and five at Southeast Missouri. She is the first Lindenwood goalkeeper since the 2020 season to pick up shutout wins in her first two starts.
