MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The Lindenwood men's hockey team (13-14-0) dropped a heartbreaker against Alaska Anchorage (5-20-1) on Friday night, falling by a score of 5-4. The Lions had appeared to force overtime with a last second goal, but the score was waved off for goalie interference.
Lindenwood created a 38-29 advantage in shots on goal in the contest while going 1-4 on the power play compared to 1-3 for UAA.
Olivier Houde and

Game Overview
Lindenwood scored a pair of goals within a three-minute window in the first period to take control early.
Charles Savoie scored from just inside the faceoff circle following a nice back handed pass by
Olivier Houde from beneath the goal line to put LU up 1-0 before
Louis-Philippe Fontaine powered home a one timer on a feed from
Jake Southgate at the 15:54 mark.
However, starting with a Karter McNarland goal atthe 8:05 mark of period two, the Seawolves reeled off four unanswered scored, with McNarland accounting for three of them including a power play conversion in the third period to put UAA up 4-2.
Lindenwood stopped the bleeding with an
Olivier Houde goal assisted by
Charles Savoie and
Ethan Elias with just under twelve minutes remaining, but Anchorage found an answer less than 90 seconds later with a Ryan Johnson goal to push their lead back to three.
Following a UAA penalty with a little over two minutes left, Lindenwood pulled the goalie and was able to make the most of the six-on-four advantage with another
Olivier Houde goal, this time with the freshman scoring off the rebound of a hard hit shot by
Nolan Seed.
Then, with just two ticks remaining in the game, Houde looked to have completed the comeback and the hat trick with a wrist shot goal from the top of the circle. However, the Alaska Anchorage bench appealed, and following a replay the score was waved off for goalie interference.
