Paige Cline Nets Game-Winning Goal In Overtime To Defeat Robert Morris On Friday

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA. - The Lindenwood Women's Hockey team (12-19-2, 10-12-1 AHA) defeated Robert Morris in the series opener on Friday night behind Paige Cline's game-winning goal in Overtime. With the win, the Lions are now at 32 points in the AHA standings and trail Syracuse by just one point for the four seed in the AHA playoffs, which begin next week.

There were no goals scored in the first period as both goaltenders played well in the first 20 minutes of the game. Lexington Secreto stopped 13 shots in the opening frame, while RMU's Maggie Hatch stopped all 10 that she faced. Both squads were awarded a power play during the first period, but neither team was able to capitalize as Secreto made four saves during the Colonial power play, and both Molly Henderson and Josey Dunne-Weeks recorded blocks to keep Robert Morris off the scoreboard.

RMU broke the scoreless tie early in the second period at the 5:48 mark to grab a 1-0 lead, but the Lions scored twice in a span of two minutes to grab a 2-1 lead halfway through the middle period. Tatiana Blichova scored the equalizing goal less than a minute after RMU had taken the lead thanks to assists from Ellie Muscedere and Dunne-Weeks, and Silje Gundersen gave Lindenwood the lead at the 8:26 mark off a great centering pass from Molly Henderson as Gundersen was crashing towards the net and was able to tap in her eighth goal of the season. The Lions were awarded their second power play of the game a few minutes later, but couldn't find the back of the net for the third time in the second period as Lindenwood took a 2-1 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes of play.

Robert Morris tied the game late in the third period with 5:30 left in regulation and the game would eventually head to Overtime. With the Lions searching for their first Overtime win of the season, Lindenwood wasted no time in the extra period as Molly Henderson won the opening face off to gain control of the puck. After sending the puck down the ice, RMU attempted to dump the puck into the neutral zone, but Henderson was able to gather the puck and send it up the ice towards Josey Dunne-Weeks. Dunne-Weeks sent a pass from just inside center ice to Paige Cline who would do the rest of the work. Cline received the pass from Dunne-Weeks and made a deke to her left creating space for an open shot opportunity. The Sophomore forward sent the puck towards the left post and past the Robert Morris goaltender to give Lindenwood it's 12th win of the 2025-26 season and their 10th win in the AHA.

Zsofia Pazmandi led the team with eight shots on goal as the Lions recorded 27 shots for the game while Lexington Secreto made 31 saves on 33 shot attempts by the Colonials to pick up her ninth win of the season. Josey Dunne-Weeks, Ellie Muscedere, and Molly Henderson each added two assists to their season totals as well in the victory for the Lions.

Lindenwood will wrap up their final game of the regular season tomorrow afternoon with puck drop set for 2 p.m. CT against Robert Morris.
