INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team (2-1, 0-0 OVC) won their second straight match on Saturday afternoon as they defeated IU Indy by a score of 4-3. The Lions picked up their first doubles point of the season as
Fabiana Labrador and
Paola Garcia were able to win the tie breaker at the number one doubles spot with a 7-6 (7-4) victory, while
Michelle Trochez and
Sofija Dunisijevic won at the number two doubles spot with a 6-4 win.
In singles play, Labrador won her first singles match of the season at the number one spot with a thrilling three set victory by scores of 7-6, 3-6, 6-1. At the number five spot, Dunisijevic won her third straight singles match in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and
Megan Caffin won at the number two spot by scores of 6-2, 7-6 to help Lindenwood improve to 2-1 on the season.
Lindenwood will be back in action on Friday, February 27 at 1 p.m. as they will host Missouri State in their next contest of the season.
