Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight Match With 4-3 Win Over Missouri State

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team (3-1, 0-0 OVC) won their third straight match on Friday afternoon as they defeated Missouri State by a score of 4-3. The Lions were able to once again pick up four singles wins en route to their longest winning streak since the 2024 Spring season. 

After Lindenwood fell at all three doubles spots, Megan Caffin, Mathilde Humbert, and Sofija Dunisijevic picked up singles wins at the number three, five, and six spots. Fabiana Labrador won at the number one spot due to her opponent retiring, but Labrador was well on her way to winning the match as the Junior from Venezuela won the first set 6-2 and was winning the second set 3-0. Meanwhile, Dunisijevic improved to 4-0 on the season in singles play with another two set victory by scores of 6-4, 6-1. 

At the number six spot, Mathilde Humbert picked up her first singles win of the season in straight sets by scores of 7-5, 6-1 and the Lions wrapped up the match with Megan Caffin winning at the number three spot by scores of 6-3, 6-1. The Lions return to action on Sunday for their second road match of the season when they will travel to the University of Missouri. First serve is set for 4 p.m. CT against the Tigers.
