The Atlantic Hockey America Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that Sophomore Goaltender
Madison Bowtell has been named the AHA Goaltender of the week for her playoff performance against Robert Morris on Saturday.
Bowtell stopped 31 of 32 shots that she faced in the victory over the Colonials and posted a save percentage of .969 to help the Lions win their first playoff game since March 2, 2017. The Sophomore from Lake Country, British Columbia stopped 14 shots in a row to end the game after giving up the game-tying goal in the second period and made huge saves down the stretch to pick up her fifth win of the 2025-26 season to help the Lions clinch an AHA semifinal berth at #2 Mercyhurst. Her 31 saves marked the sixth game this season in which she has recorded 30 or more saves.Â
The Semifinal round will begin on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT followed by 12 p.m. CT on Saturday. If the series is tied 1-1, there will be a winner-take-all Game Three on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. CT with the winner advancing to the AHA Tournament Championship game. Â
