Lindenwood Men's Basketball fell on Thursday at home to Eastern Illinois by a score of 71-67.
Anias Futrell recorded his 11th 20+ point performance of the season by scoring a team-high 27 points while
Jadis Jones notched his team-leading eighth double-double of the season by scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Jones is up to 8.5 rebounds per game this season, which leads the OVC.
Dontrez Williams scored 16 points against the Panthers as well as the trio of Futrell, Jones, and Williams combined for 54 of the team's 67 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome EIU. Eastern shot 66% from the three point line and knocked down 75.8% of their free throw attempts in last night's contest to defeat the Lions.Â
Scouting The Leathernecks
Western Illinois is 5-25 overall on the season and has one win in the Ohio Valley Conference this season, which came on February 10 on WIU's home floor against Eastern Illinois. The Leathernecks are led in scoring by Senior Guard Lucas Lorenzen who is averaging 15 points per game. Lornezen has scored in double figures in 21 out of 30 games played this season, and has scored 20 or more points in nine contests.
The Lions took down WIU back on December 18, 2025 behind
Anias Futrell's career-high performance. Futrell scored 36 points and knocked down a season-high eight three pointers in the win over the Leathernecks to help Lindenwood improve to 2-0 in the OVC at the time. The Lions have never won on the road at WIU and will look to change that on Saturday afternoon.Â
