Lindenwood fell for the third time on their home floor during OVC play with a 78-72 loss to SIUE on Tuesday night. In his return to the lineup,
Jadis Jones scored a game-high 23 points on 9-11 shooting from the floor. The Sophomore Guard from New Madrid, Mo. recorded his team-leading seventh double-double of the season grabbing 10 boards to go along with his 23 points. Fellow Sophomore Guard
Dontrez Williams recorded his first career double-double as well against the Cougars, scoring 10 points and grabbing a team-high and career-high 11 rebounds in the loss. The Lions have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Little Rock, Arkansas on Thursday night for a matchup with the Little Rock Trojans. The Trojans defeated Lindenwood back on January 10 in St. Charles by a score of 82-74.
Anias Futrell led all scorers with 30 points in that contest while
Jadis Jones added 19 points and
Robert Lewis had 13 points.
Scouting The Trojans
Little Rock is 6-6 in the OVC and is coming off a three point loss on Tuesday night to UT Martin by a final score of 55-52. Graduate Guard Braxton Bayless led ULR with 13 points on 5-11 shooting while Junior Forward Kachi Nzeh scored 11 points on 5-8 shooting from the floor. During OVC play, Redshirt Senior Guard Johnathan Lawson leads the Trojans offensively scoring 17.1 points per game. Lawson has scored in double digits in all but one conference game this season and has scored 20 or more points in six of Little Rock's 12 conference games played. The Trojans rank third in the OVC in three point percentage knocking down 34.3% of their attempts during OVC games and also rank second in the OVC in free throw percentage shooting 75.2% from the line. The Lions will look to get back into the win column on Thursday night and pick up a season split with Little Rock after dropping the first matchup at home earlier in the season.  Â
