Lindenwood's
Jacob Fletcher and
Olivier Houde have been named NCAA Division-I Independent Players of the Month following their stellar performances in January, as the freshman duo led the Lions in scoring through their first eight games of the New Year.
Fletcher registered 5-6-11 with at least one point is six of eight games during January, including three multi-point performances. He posted a season-high four points (2-2-4) in Lindenwood's 7-4 win over Alaska on January 24th. A week earlier, he recorded another four points (1-3-4) in two games against Stonehill. Fletcher leads LU with 11 total goals this season.
Houde matched Fletcher with 5-6-11 during the month while also turning in three multi-point performances. He registered a point in seven of eight contests with a season-high three-point outing (1-2-3) against Stonehill on January 16th. His 2-3-5 weekend against the Skyhawks led Lindenwood to their only sweep of the month. Houde is third on the team with 21 total points (8-13-21) this season.
Fletcher and Houde join
Giovanni Morneau,
Nolan Seed, and
Liam Beerman as the fourth and fifth Lindenwood Lions to earn Independent Player of the Month honors this season.
LU returns to the ice this weekend at Stonehill. Game one from Warrior Ice Arena in Boston is scheduled for Friday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m. CT, with game two following at the same time on Saturday.
