BOSTON, Mass. – The Lindenwood men's hockey team (13-13-0) dropped their final away contest of the 2025-26 season on Saturday night, falling to Stonehill (6-20-2) by a score of 4-1. The Lions took a brief lead midway through the second period before five unanswered goals by the Skyhawks, including three in the final period.
Game Overview
The two teams played to a scoreless draw through the first 20 minutes, with Lindenwood creating a 14-10 advantage in shots on goal. Lindenwood went 0-1 on the power play in the period while Stonehill squandered a pair of opportunities with the man advantage.
The game remained without a goal until the 12:38 mark of the second period, when
Jaeden Mercier positioned himself in the slot and redirected a shot from the blue line by
Jake Delaney that found the back of the net to put Lindenwood in the lead.
However, Stonehill promptly responded with a pair of unanswered goals, as Cole Melady scored on a rebound at the 13:18 mark before the Skyhawks were able to convert for their first power play goal of the weekend with an unassisted score by Mathew Romer at 15:26.
After Lindenwood was held scoreless on their second power play opportunity of the game, Stonehill extended their lead with just under 13 minutes remaining with a backdoor pass by Jacob Posma that set up Justin Mexico to score from close range. Â The Skyhawks made it four unanswered with a Charles Banquier goal from the top of the circle at 11:58 before tacking on one more with a Pat Murphy goal in the contest's waning moments.

Lindenwood concludes the regular season next weekend as they host Alaska Anchorage at Centene Community Ice Center. Game one is scheduled for Friday, February 13th at 7:10 p.m. with game two following at 6:10 p.m. on Valentines Day.
