The Lindenwood women's golf team opened the spring slate this week at the SoCal Spring Invitational in Camarillo, Calif. The Lions finished in 14
th place with a team score of 966.
OVERVIEW
The Lions began the tournament by compiling a team score of 331, led by
Andrea Alvarez who shot a 79. She finished her round strong with a birdie on 18.
Meredith Colby came in just behind her with an 82, followed by
Jamie Daniels who shot an 84.
Paula Mariana Sanchez carded an 86, and
KC Lenox rounded out the lineup with a 92. As an individual,
Sophia Lefler fired an 81 and had a pair of birdies.
Lindenwood improved by 17 strokes in round two, carding a 317. That effort was led by Sanchez who shot a 73, including one under on the back nine. Alvarez was second on the team in scoring with a 78 as a pair of birdies on the final nine holes helped her get there. Daniels came in just behind her with an 83, followed by Lenox and Leffler.
In round three, Lindenwood compiled a team score of 321, led by Sanchez with a 77. Alvarez came in just behind her with a 79 and had two birdies on the front nine. Daniels also had two birdies during her round and closed out the tournament shooting 84. Lenox was in between them with an 81.
