The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in a tie for sixth at the Johnie Imes Invitational held at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo. The Black and Gold compiled a team score of 933 across three rounds.
OVERVIEW
The Lions began the tournament with a 310, led by a trio of 77's by
Andrea Alvarez,
Petra Balkovec, and
Isabella Buckley. Each of the three had a pair of birdies during the round.
Meredith Colby came in just behind them with a 79, followed by
Jamie Daniels with an 80.
In round two, Daniels led the scoring with a 76 behind 13 pars. She was followed by Colby with a 77, while Balkovec fired an 81, Alvarez carded an 84, and Buckley rounded out the lineup with an 85.
Sophia Lefler had her best round of the year as an individual with a 78. Overall, the Lions shot a 318 as a team across the second 18 and sat in seventh place after 36 holes.
The Black and Gold saved their best round for last, shooting a season-low 305, led by Balkovec with an even-par 72, which vaulted her 11 spots up the leaderboard. She was followed by Daniels and Alvarez who each shot 77. Buckley was just behind her with a 79 and Colby closed out her tournament with an 85.
