ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team (4-3, 1-0 OVC) started off conference play 1-0 for the first time in the Division I Era on Wednesday afternoon with a 4-3 win over Southern Indiana at the Lindenwood Tennis Courts. The Lions picked up their second doubles point of the season in the OVC opener, while also picking up singles wins at the number three, four, and six spots to solidify their fourth win of the 2026 Spring season.
In doubles play, the duo of
Fabiana Labrador and
Paola Garcia captured a win at the number two spot with a 6-4 victory, and Lindenwood closed out the doubles win thanks to
Megan Caffin and
Mathilde Humbert winning at the number three spot by a score of 6-2 to grab the early 1-0 lead. Humbert carried her momentum over into singles play as she defeated USI's Claire Meyer in straight sets at the number six spot by winning in dominant fashion by a score of 6-0, 6-0.
At the number three spot, Caffin also picked up a two-set win by scores of 6-1, 6-4 and the Lions took the fourth and final point of the match at the number four spot with Garcia winning in straight sets by scores of 7-6, 6-0 over USI's Enna Krnjic.
Lindenwood will have a quick turnaround as they will play again tomorrow afternoon at home against Eastern Kentucky. First serve is set for 3 p.m. CT.
