COOKEVILLE, TN. - The Lindenwood Softball team (12-17, 2-6 OVC) fell in both games of their doubleheader at Tennessee Tech on Saturday by scores of 5-0 and 3-1.
Game One: Tennessee Tech 5, Lindenwood 0
Tennessee Tech scored all five runs in the first two innings of the game behind an RBI single in the bottom of the first and a bases clearing three-run triple down the right field line in the bottom of the second. The Lions finished the game with one hit which came in the top of the seventh inning as
Anna Sanders led off the inning with a single through the right side of the infield. In the circle,
Samantha Roulanaitis pitched two innings of relief out of the bullpen and allowed zero runs on zero hits and struck out two batters.
Game Two: Tennesee Tech 3, Lindenwood 1
The Lions grabbed the lead in the top of the first behind a throwing error from the Golden Eagle catcher.
Tori Hatton stole second base and forced a throw down that got away from TTU and allowed for Sanders to score to give Lindenwood a 1-0 lead early. TTU tied the game in the bottom of the second on a home run to left center, and took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run home run to deep left field to put the Golden Eagles on top 3-1. Sanders led off the top of the seventh inning with a single to right field, but wasn't able to score as the Lions went 1-2-3 after the lead off single. Despite the loss in game two, LU out hit Tennessee Tech 9-6 as
Dallis Darnell,
Sadie Sexauer, Sanders, and Hatton all collected two hits in the contest. In the circle,
Avery Wapp pitched 3.2 innings and struck out six in relief as the Senior pitcher now sits at 68 K's on the 2026 season.
Lindenwood will wrap up their series with the Golden Eagles tomorrow afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
