The Lindenwood lacrosse team (3-7, 0-2 ASUN) fell to Delaware (5-4, 2-0 ASUN) by a score of 25-7 on Saturday afternoon inside Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEW
Delaware scored the first three goals of the game to take an early lead just past the hallway point of the opening quarter.
Reese Krieger put an end to the run off a feed from
Charlize Vang, making the score 3-1 with 5:19 to play in the first. Goals by
Luci Selander and
Olivia Godbout pulled Lindenwood even late in the frame. The Blue Hens retook the lead with a score before the end of the quarter and held a 4-3 advantage after one.
Both teams traded goals to begin the middle quarter. Godbout got her second pf the day assisted by
Nicole Gorman. The Blue Hens netted the next four to extend the lead back to 9-4. A pair of free position goals from Selander and Vang before halftime cut the deficit to 9-6 at the break.
The Blue Hens came out strong to begin the second half and grew the lead to 18-6 before Gorman netted a goal in the quarter. Delaware went on to win 25-7 on Saturday afternoon.
