The Lindenwood men's golf team opened its spring slate with a 12
th place finish at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate this week in Dickson, Tenn. The Lions compiled a team score of 904 across three rounds.
OVERVIEW
The Lions compiled a team score of 314 in the first round, led by
Jan Wdowka who shot a one-under 71 with the help of six birdies.
Samuel Bergenstein had the second best Lindenwood score with a 79 and was closely followed by
Santiago Juesas Benet who shot 80. Rounding out the lineup was
Ludvig Behring and
Francisco Gavilan Fernandez who each registered an 84.
Lindenwood improved by 22 strokes as Juesas fired a two-under 70 to vault 31 spots up the leaderboard. Behring was even par at a 72 while both Gavilan and Wdowka finished with a 75. Gavilan shot even par on the back nine during the second round. Bergensten finished just behind them with a 76. After two rounds, the Black and Gold sat in 12
th place, four shots back of 10
th.
In round three, Lindenwood shot a 298 once again led by Wdowka with an even par 72 with the help of three birdies and a one under back nine. Two Lions, Bergenstein and Gavilan closed out their tournament with a 75. Juesas Benet finished just behind them with a 76, while Behring rounded out the lineup with a 79.
