NASHVILLE, TN. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis Team (6-4, 3-0 OVC) continued to build off of their momentum at Western Illinois on Sunday by sweeping Tennessee State on the road Wednesday afternoon by a score of 7-0. With the victory over the Tigers, the Lions are now 3-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference, which ties their most conference wins in a single season in the Division I Era.

To start off doubles play, Fabiana Labrador and Paola Garcia won in dominating fashion over TSU's Claudia Murdasanu and Taylor Ellis by a score of 6-1 to improve to 2-0 in the OVC as doubles partners. Michelle Trochez and Sofija Dunisijevic picked up a doubles victory at the number two spot with a 6-3 win over Tennessee State's Julie Tungamarial and Natalie Walsh, and the Lions would go on to sweep doubles play behind Megan Caffin and Mathilde Humbert defeating the number three duo for TSU by a score of 7-5.

Five of six Lions took straight set victories at every spot but number three. Dunisijevic won her singles match at the number five spot by scores of 6-1, 6-1 while Humbert won her fourth straight singles match at the number six spot by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Meanwhile at the number one and two spots, both Caffin and Labrador won their matches 6-1, 6-4 and Garcia added her third win of conference play with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over TSU's Aroa Castillo at the number four spot. At the number three spot, Trochez took the first set by a score of 6-3, but Tennessee State's Julie Tungamarial forced a third set with a 7-5 win in set number two. Trochez was able to calm the storm and complete the sweep for the Lions with a commanding 10-4 set three victory.

The victory this afternoon puts Lindenwood in first place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with two OVC matches to go.
