Puck Drop
The Lindenwood men's hockey team opens postseason play Thursday night against Long Island in the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Cup. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT with the winner advancing to the UCHC Championship game.
About the UCHC
The United Collegiate Hockey Cup brings together five NCAA Division I men's hockey programs - Alaska-Anchorage, Alaska-Fairbanks, Lindenwood, Long Island, and Stonehill - for a high-stakes postseason showdown.
The event represents a major step forward for independent college hockey programs, providing them with a postseason championship experience and an opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage. The United Collegiate Hockey Cup is expected to draw college hockey fans, NHL scouts, and media attention, further growing the visibility of these programs.
All-Independent Team
College hockey's five independent programs announced accolades for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, with Lindenwood's
Giovanni Morneau being named Player and Rookie of the Year, while
Nolan Seed was tabbed Co-Defenseman of the Year.
Morneau led the Lions in scoring this season with 30 points on 10 goals and a team-high 20 assists, tying the Lindenwood program record for points in a single season and setting a new high mark for assists.
Meanwhile, Seed registered 3-18-21 from the blue line this season, finishing the regular season second on the team in assists.

Lindenwood defeated the United States National Team Development Program in an exhibition contest their last time on the ice on February 22nd. The Lions prevailed 9-4 with each goal being scored by a different skater. The teams ended the game with an even 40 shots on goal apiece while also both going 1-4 on the power play.
