DiGiacinto's Seven Points Lead Lacrosse to Second Straight Win

The Lindenwood lacrosse team (2-4) picked up its second straight win defeating Butler (2-4) by a score of 17-12 on Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood took control of the game early with goals from Tatum Bryant, Claire Blue, and Charlize Vang that put the Lions up 3-0 at the 9:04 mark of the first quarter. The Black and Gold kept up the offensive onslaught with six different goal scorers in total across the first 15 minutes of play and led 7-2 after one.

Alissa DiGiacinto and Annie Wille got the scoring started for Lindenwood in the middle frame, extending the advantage to 9-2 with just over 11 minutes to play in the half. Butler answered with a goal a few minutes later, making the score 9-3. The Lions netted the final three goals of the quarter, coming from Elise Fawcett, Nicole Gorman, and Vang. Lindenwood led 12-3 at the break.

DiGiacinto scored two of Lindenwood's three goals in the third. The other came off the stick of Luci Selander as the Lions led 15-5 after 45 minutes of play. Defensively, the Black and Gold held Butler to just five shots through three with Taylor Coughlin making five saves.

Butler clawed back and scored the first five goals of the fourth before Vang put an end to the run at the 8:58 mark, making the score 16-10. The Bulldogs got one back, cutting the deficit to five. Fawcett found the back of the net just before the end of the game off a feed from DiGiacinto. The Lions went on to win 17-12 and picked up their second consecutive win.
