The Lindenwood lacrosse team (6-10, 3-4 ASUN) fell to Jacksonville (10-5, 6-1 ASUN) 14-3 on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla.
GAME OVERVIEW
Jacksonville jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the halfway point of the first quarter. Lindenwood had some good looks offensively, but couldn't get it past Jacksonville goalie Brookelynn Hodgin who had three saves in the frame. The Dolphins added two more before the end of the first and led 5-0 after one.
In a defensive quarter that saw just 13 shots and five on goal, the Dolphins netted the only two scores of the second quarter and took a 7-0 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
After Jacksonville scored the first three goals of the third quarter,
Alissa DiGiacinto and the Lions finally broke through at the 4:08 mark of the frame. Jacksonville scored one more before the end of the quarter and led 11-1 after three.
The Dolphins netted an early one in the fourth before
Isabella DiSciascio scored off a feed from
Charlize Vang, making the score 12-2 with just over 12 minutes to play. The other goal for the Lions came from
Reese Krieger, but Lindenwood fell 14-3 on Saturday.
