The Lindenwood men's golf team concluded its season in a tie for ninth at the OVC Championships this week at Ackerman-Allan Course in West Lafayette, Ind. The Lions compiled a team score of 912 across three rounds.
OVERVIEW
Lindenwood opened the tournament with a team score of 303. That effort was led by
Francisco Gavilan Fernandez who carded a 74. He had a strong start, shooting one-under during the front nine.
Owen Shy and
Ludvig Behring came in just behind him, both shooting 76.
Santiago Juesas Benet had a team leading four birdies, including three on the front nine to finish with a 77.
Jan Wdowka rounded out the lineup also shooting 77.
In round two, the Lions shot a 299, led by Wdowka with a 73, including five birdies and a one-under back nine. He was closely followed by Behring and Gavilan who shot a 74 and 75 respectively. Shy and Juesas shot 77 and 78. After two rounds, Lindenwood sat in ninth place.
The Lions closed out the tournament shooting 310, led by Gavilan with a 73 which vaulted him 10 spots up the leaderboard to 19th. Wdowka came in behind him with a 77, followed by Juesas with a 78. Behring and Shy rounded out the lineup with an 82 and 83, respectively as Lindenwood finished in a tie for ninth.
