The Lindenwood lacrosse team (5-9, 2-3 ASUN) dropped a non-conference matchup to Vanderbilt (8-6, 3-0 AAC) by a score of 17-7 on Wednesday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn.
GAME OVERVIEW
Despite hitting three early posts, Lindenwood couldn't find the back of the net. The Commodores netted the first three goals of the game to go up 3-0 just before the halfway point of the quarter. Vandy scored two more times before the end of the frame and led 5-0 after one.
Luci Selander broke the Lindenwood drought at the 12:25 mark of the second. Less than a minute later, that Lions cut the deficit to 5-2 off the stick of
Reese Krieger assisted by Selander. Vanderbilt scored the next three goals and led 9-2 at the break.
Vanderbilt scored early in the third quarter and went up 12-2.
Sarah Jardine put an end to the run, but the Commodores scored just before the end of the frame to lead 13-3 after three.
In the fourth,
Isabella Jahkhah scored a minute and a half in assisted by
Annie Wille. The two teams continued to trade goals throughout the fourth as Krieger picked up her second of the day at the 12:26 mark. With just over four minutes to play,
Marin Lally netted a goal, making the score 16-6. A few minutes later, Jardine scored her second of the day, assisted by
Breckin Hare. However, Vandy went on to win 17-7.
