PEORIA, Ill. - The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team (6-7, 3-2 OVC) came up just short at Bradley on Wednesday by a final score of 4-3. The match was decided at the number two singles spot, where
Megan Caffin and Bradley's Ruby Tseng battled it out for three sets, but Tseng narrowly defeated Caffin to clinch the match for the Braves, who improved to 7-10 on the 2026 season, while Lindenwood dropped to below .500 on the season with a record of 6-7.
All three of Lindenwood's points were recorded in singles play at the number four through six spots.
Sofija Dunisijevic and
Paola Garcia added their team-leading eighth singles wins of the season with Garcia winning at the number four spot by scores of 7-5, 6-4 and Dunisijevic taking a two set victory at the number five spot over BU's Ann Hsieh by a score of 7-5, 6-1. The final point for the Lions was taken at the number six spot by Freshman

The Braves were able to grab an early 2-0 lead in the match as they swept the doubles matches at the number one and two spots by scores of 6-2 and 6-3 before taking the first singles match at the number three spot with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. The final two points of the match would be decided at the number one and two spots in which
Fabiana Labrador and
Megan Caffin would have to dig deep and battle. After dropping the opening set 2-6, Labrador responded with a 6-2 victory of her own in the second set to force a third and final set. However, Bradley's Valeriia Ivanovskaia took the final set by a score of 6-2 to even the match at three. Similar to Labrador, Caffin dropped her first set by a score of 7-6, but bounced back to even the match with a 6-4 victory in set two. The third set was back-and-forth the whole way, but Bradley was able to hold off the comeback attempt by Caffin to take the point and seal the match with a 6-4 third set win.
The Lions will return to St. Charles on Sunday afternoon for their final match of the regular season as they will host Saint Louis. First serve with the Billikens is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
