Lindenwood women's volleyball head coach
Will Condon has announced the addition of
Alex Gettinger to the team's 2026 coaching staff.
"We are excited to have Alex join our staff", said Condon, "He has a great resume with playing and coaching experience at this level. As someone who is from the area he already has great connections and relationships with our local recruiting philosophy. He's been a great addition in the gym."
Gettinger returns home to St. Louis after serving as an assistant coach at UT-Arlington during the 2025 season. In his time with UT-Arlington, Gettinger led the team's serve receive and defense while also developing detailed scouting reports on opposing teams throughout the season. In his lone season at UTA, the team compiled an 11-14 record, which included an 8-0 start to the season.
During the 2024 season, Gettinger served as a volunteer assistant at Wyoming, helping the Cowgirls achieve a 17-13 record while creating game plans and aiding the team by compiling accurate scouting reports.
Before Wyoming, Gettinger served as an Associate Director of the 630 Volleyball Club in Lisle, Illinois, leading the Boys' volleyball program there.
Gettinger attended Pepperdine University from 2017 to 2022. In his time as an athlete, the Waves reached the NCAA tournament 3 times. He was named to the 2020 USA Volleyball Collegiate Team. In his 5th and final season, Gettinger helped lead the way to an MPSF conference tournament championship, earning MPSF All Conference Tournament Team honors.
Gettinger was born and raised in Wildwood, Missouri and attended Lafayette High School. He helped lead the Lancers to a State Championship for the Boys Volleyball team in 2017, as well as state runner-up status in 2015 and 2016. He was named FloVolleyball All-American first team and AVCA All-American second team in 2017 and made the 2017 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list. In addition he was named All-Metro Player of the Year, Class 4 State Tournament MVP and All-Suburban West first team in 2017.
